a seldom few local companies that actually manufactures its own
PVCu and Aluminium products- most firms buy everything in! We

that allows our customers to browse many of our products before

outside which allow customers to fully appreciate the natural light
and space created by these airy additions. Our staff are always on
hand to offer helpful advice but will not pressurise. Most of
our products are fitted into brickwork so customers can really get
the feel of what our windows and doors would look like in their
house. We also have numerous brochures available for
customers to peruse either over a complimentary tea or coffee in
the comfort of the showroom or to take away where they can conduct
as much research as they want prior to obtaining a quote. No Hard

Mansfield (Synseal). Do we recycle? Yes, PVCu, glass, aluminium,

long have we been in this building? We have been at our current
Leicester Street premises for 17 years. How many windows/double
glazed units do we make a week? Because our production is bespoke
the amounts vary. How many square feet in the factory? 16,000 How
many square feet in the building? 22,000 What is Activ Glass? Activ
is a self cleaning glass from Pilkington Glass UK Ltd. What is
Fensa? Self-assessment scheme to conform with current building
regulations. What is Argon Gas? Inert gas that lowers the U value
of a double glazed unit by 0.3 to 1.4. The gas is denser that air
so slows down convection. What is Low E? Low emissivity coating on
the glass (metallic) which keeps heat in. Typical U value is 1.7.
What does UPVC stand for? Unplasticised polyvinyl chloride. What
are Window Energy ratings? Window Energy Ratings (WER's) are the
new building regulations standards to gauge how efficient new
windows are. C rated windows became the new minimum standard on 1st
October 2010 but Northwich Glass can also offer upgrades to B and A
rated windows. Are we members of the GGF (Glass and Glazing
Federation). Yes
